UPDATED: Weather latest: Ice warning and more snow possible - waste and recycling services doing yesterday’s collections


A yellow warning for ice has been issued for Calderdale by the Met Office this morning.

Temperatures are not expected to reach above zero degrees celsius today and could get down to -2 tonight.

All schools have now re-opened and there are now weather-related disruptions being reported to public transport.

Another yellow warning for ice has been issued for tomorrow morning.

Heavy snow and sleet is being forcast for Friday afternoon.

Meanwhile Calderdale Council says its household waste and recycling collection teams will be carrying out yeterday’s collections where it is safe to do so. People are being asked to leave their wheelie bins and recycling bins at collection points.

All household waste recycling centres are open.

The council says all roads on precautionary routes have been treated and are open. Other roads are being gritted today. Salt bins The council’s transport service continues to operate where it is possible and safe to do so but there is still likely to be some disruption to other services involving transport due to snow and ice.
