A serious road traffic collison caused rush hour delays in Stainland and the driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital.

Fire crews from Halifax and Elland were called to the RTC involving a car which had flipped on its side on Stainland Road, at around 5pm this evening (January 27).

Initial reports suggested that the driver of the grey Nissan and passengers were trapped in the vehicle but when crews attended the driver and three passengers had freed themselves from the car.

An ambulance and police attended the scene - the ambulance took the driver to Calderdale Royal for treatment and police stayed at scene until it was cleared.
