A fire at a house in Halifax is being treated as a suspected arson attack.
Firefighters from Halifax, Illingworth and Elland were all sent to the incident on Pellon New Road at 6.45am.
The fire started in an upstairs bedroom of the property and flames could be seen coming out of the window.
When crews arrived members of the public were trying to gain access to the property.
Initial reports had suggested that an occupant was trapped in the house, but there was nobody inside when firefighters arrived.
Nobody is believed to have been injured.
Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a positive pressure ventilation fan to tackle the fire.
The bedroom and upstairs of the property have suffered severe fire damage.
Police are currently guarding the property, while fire scene investigators are interviewing neighbours and trying to establish where the fire was deliberate.
