Love was in the air as a Sowerby Bridge couple tied the knot on the most romantic day of the year.
Ben West and Jemma Wainwright gave their wedding vows at Calderdale register office, Halifax, today.
The bride arrived at Spring Hall in a vintage Land Rover on time for the St Valentine’s Day ceremony.
“We’re very, very excited,” said the new Mrs West, “we couldn’t be happier.”
The happy couple will enjoy a week in Florida for their honeymoon.
Five other couples have also tied the knot in the district today, with four other ceremonies taking place at Spring Hall.
Calderdale Council’s cabinet member for communities, councillor Steve Sweeney, said: “Valentine’s Day is traditionally the most romantic day of the year; a busy day for chocolatiers, florists and jewellers, and also for registrars.
“Calderdale Council has a variety of venues across the borough, where you can get married, form a civil partnership or renew your vows, including Clay House, Spring Hall and Todmorden Town Hall.
“Ceremonies can also be conducted in any premises approved and licensed by Calderdale Council, such as civic buildings, hotels and stately homes.”
