Pupils at Warley Town School were given a talk on war time life by members of a Halifax Day Centre.

Residents of Higgins Close visited class 3 at the school to talk about life during the war and what school’s were like when they were younger. The residents also heard a song on ukelele’s by class 3, which they have been working on this term.

Next week six pupils will visit the day centre for an arts and crafts session.

Headteacher at Warley Town School, said: “I think it was a resounding success for both the pupils and the ladies and gentlemen that came from the care centre.

“They were able to share their stories about school and the war and it really helped the children to hear it first hand,” she said.
