RASTRICK High School was a hive of activity as the school celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Dinner ladies turned back time with an 1980s themed menu in the main hall.
Forms were battling it out in a radio competition broadcast to pupils during lunchtime.
Each group had to broadcast a two minute piece on Radio Rastrick – the school’s own radio station. The finalists will be judged by presenter Andrew Edwards of Radio Leeds.
Pupils were also kept busy with a nail art pampering session organised by one form group after head teacher Helen Lennie challenged them to ‘Double your Money’. Each form was given £25 and has to double it by Easter by participating in business-type ventures.
The nail products used were donated by Diamond Beauty Bar, Halifax.
Louise Benn, of the school, said: “We are doing a whole range of fantastic enterprising things, which the whole school is getting involved in.”
Teachers and pupils joined in with a non-uniform day to help raise £10,000 for a new minibus. They were invited to dress in red or pink for Valentine’s Day.
