REPRESENTATIVES from across the charity sector in Calderdale met to launch an event marking 20 years of the Community Foundation for Calderdale.

Called The Imaginarium, the unique event will take place at an as-yet unnamed location in Calderdale in September but was kicked off by a drinks reception last week.

The Mayor of Calderdale Keith Watson helped bosses at the Community Foundation launch the event at Halifax Town Hall Auditorium.

Steve Duncan, chief executive of the Community Foundation, said: “The Community Foundation is no ordinary charity and the Imaginarium is no ordinary Charity ball.

“We’re raising the bar for charity events - it will be hosted in a mystery location and the tired format for typical charity balls will be replaced with fun activities with fine cuisine and superb entertainment and plenty of surprises thrown in. Tables are selling quickly - so join in the fun and celebrate with us on September 17 at the Imaginarium.”
