OCTOGENARIANS at a Halifax care home got active wiggling their hips with a visiting belly-dancing group.

Isis belly dancers visited Sandholme Fold Care Home in Hipperholme to teach a few tricks of their trade to residents including Jean Hobday, 81, Pat Brown, 82, and Joyce Roberts, 81.

They also did a special Happy Birthday belly dance for resident Wynn Tolley’s 86th birthday.

Susan Burke, activities co-ordinator at the home, said: “Isis did a dance first then they asked who wanted to have a go. The ladies were all very keen and up for it. They did quite a few dances, along with some of the carers, and absolutely loved it.”
