Halifax’s Race for Life is the first in the region to hit its target for runners - and joining them across the finish line will be a team of 13 from the Halifax Courier.

This is the first year Cancer Research is holding a 5k Race for Life at Savile Park - and space is running out for those still wanting to sign up.

Jenny Key, area events manager, said: “There’s literally a handful of places left - over 1,900 people have signed up and we’ve exceeded our target of 1,800, which is fantastic. It just shows there was a demand for the event in the town and it’s the first to hit target in the region.

“It’s been an amazing call to action. I’m now looking forward to a brilliant event day!”

Courier editor Tim Robinson said: “I think this is excellent.

“It just shows Courier staff go to great lengths to raise money for charity.”
