A NEW Archdeacon of Halifax has been revealed.

Huddersfield Parish Church welcomed the Archdeaconry of Halifax, the Venerable Anne Dawtry, into the area she will serve at a service yesterday.

It was led by the Right Rev’d Tony Robinson, Bishop of Pontefract and guests from across Calderdale and Kirklees including members of churches, interfaith groups and civic leaders.

Anne said: “I am thoroughly enjoying meeting people across the vibrant and diverse communities which go to make up The Archdeaconry of Halifax. I look forward to working in depth with both churches and local communities over the coming months.”

Anne is a keen gardener and photographer of anything architectural. She also enjoys making jams, chutneys and relishes and at her heart is meeting people.

Bishop of Wakefield Stephen Platten said: “I am sure that she will have much to contribute to the life of the Diocese.”
