A brand new electronic card aimed at making travel easier throughout West Yorkshire has been launched.

The MCard will be rolled out throughout West Yorkshire over the next two years.

The card, similar to the Oyster card in London, will mean commuters can use the touch-based technology across all train and bus networks, rather than purchasing paper tickets.

The scheme is a joint venture between Bus and Rail Operators and Metro, who, along with the Department for Transport, are giving a total of £13m to fund the cards.
