82-year-old woman robbed in Huddersfield

Police are appealing for information after an 82-year-old female had her purse stolen by two men claiming to work for a water company at Highlands Avenue, Almondbury.

Detective Constable Joanne Sharp, said: “The incident occurred between 1pm and 2.45pm on Monday 10 February at a terraced property.

“Initially the victim had turned the two men away but a short time later they returned and entered the rear door of the property unannounced.

“While one suspect distracted the victim by taking her upstairs the other suspect has searched the living room and is believed to have stolen a purse containing cash.

“The victim only discovered the theft a short time later.”

Suspect one is described as a white male with short dark hair, mid to late twenties, medium build and around 5ft, 8in. He was believed to be wearing a black zip-up jacket and dark trousers and spoke with a local accent.

Suspect two is believed to be a mixed race male, mid to late twenties, medium build and around 5ft, 8in. He was wearing a black baseball cap and wore dark coloured clothing.
