Attempted robbery at Bradford betting shop

Police are appealing for information following an attempted robbery.

At about 9 pm last night(Wed) a man with a scarf covering the lower half of his face approached the counter in the Beacon Road shop and held up a piece of paper and a blue carrier bag.

The cashier immediately pressed the panic alarm and ran into a back room.

She returned to the shop a few minutes afterwards, but the man had gone and nothing had been taken.

He was wearing a distinctive “hound’s tooth” checked scarf, a black and grey jumper and a grey hooded top. He is described as being of average height and build.

Detectives are linking the incident to a robbery at a betting shop in Manchester Road on Thursday, December 5, as well as a similar attempted robbery at commercial premises in Wibsey Bank, which happened at around 4.55 pm on Tuesday, December 10.
