Huddersfield town centre is set to come alive as cycling professionals, amateur riders and young people race through the streets in the first Huddersfield One Criterium.
The event promises to be an exciting, high speed, closed circuit cycle race with thousands expected to line the route.
It will take place in the evening of Friday July 4, the day before Le Tour comes to Yorkshire, and riders will race many times round the circuit, usually for 45 minutes per event.
There will be three events in the evening starting around 6pm, with prize presentations at the end.
Discussions with Kirklees Highways and Metro have taken place and the suggested one kilometre circuit in the west of the town centre should cause minimum disruption to the town.
