THE final colourful touches are being put to this weekend’s Handmade Parade.

The annual extravangza will wind its way round Hebden Bridge on Saturday.

Hours of careful painting, stitching and crafting have gone into creating the costumes, which will be seen by thousands of people.

This year’s theme is The Fabulous Feast.

Among the creations will be an evil burger king, a huge hungry mouth, a giant pie complete with blackbirds, herb queens, a giant fishmonger, walking market stalls, a massive cow and crows on stilts.

The parade will start at 2pm and thousands of residents and visitors are expected to line the route.

It takes in Victoria Road, Valley Road and Bridge Gate to Calder Holmes Park, where the spectacular finale will take place.

This year the entertainment will start early, with Hebden Bridge Flamenco kicking off the fun in Market Street at 12.30pm.
