A WIDOW has handed over cash to the cancer unit who looked after her late husband.

Sheila Williams wanted to thank the staff at the Macmillan Unit, Calderdale Royal Hospital, who looked after her husband Dennis Glyn, known as Glyn.

He died of oesophageal cancer on August 8 and a collection was held at his funeral for the unit.

That raised £300 and another £90 was raised by a Boothtown Rascals football tournament.

“It was brilliant to hand the money over. We’ve been on the receiving end and they’ve been great. You can’t beat the nurses there and the atmosphere there is fantastic.”
