A woman was injured after being hit by a car in Halifax town centre this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the incident, at the junction of Rawson Street and Commercial Street, just before 3pm.

A police spokesperson said the woman is thought to be in her late 50s.

The car involved was a silver Vauxhall Astra.

There were traffic delays around the town centre while emergency services worked at the scene, but congestion has now cleared.
