Police are appealing for witnesses after a 63-year-old woman was involved in an accident while riding her bike in Halifax this afternoon (Sunday).

The incident happened at 2.20pm near the New Inn pub on Heath Hill Road in Pellon, and police are concerned the woman may have been knocked off her bike by a car which then failed to stop.

The air ambulance were called to the scene but were not required as a road ambulance was able to attend to the woman, who was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for treatment.
