Two Halifax sporstwomen shot above the net and raised £1,000 for charity.

Stefanie Robinson and Dawn Sutherland hosted a mixed netball charity match and will donate funds to well deserved causes.

The event was initially inspired by Dawn’s dad, who beat prostate cancer. In previous years, the two girls have held the mixed netball tournament to raise awareness of the disease.

And this year, the funds will go towards two more causes close to the women’s hearts.

The money will be divided between the Leeds General Infirmary neurology department, after Dawn suffered from three brain aneurysms, and the Alzheimers Society, as Stefanie’s father has been diagnosed with early onset dementia.

The women said the tournament went really well and thanked all who donated and helped to make the day a success.
