Savile Park will be a sea of pink once again as the annual Race for Life returns to Halifax this weekend.
Generations of women will band together to show cancer who’s boss, as 1,600 participants tackle either the 5 or 10km routes.
Race organisers hope to raise £102,000 to fund research into 200 different types of cancer.
Philippa Smith, Halifax Events Manager, said: “Because Cancer Research is not funded by the government, we rely on people raising as much money as they can.
“A lot of people take part for a lot of different reasons, whether its for themselves or for a family member.
“Cancer affects everyone and with the Race for Life, people come together as one big group to take it on.”
The race begins at 10am on Sunday, for more information visit http://raceforlife.cancerresearchuk.org/
