Registration is now open for an abseil challenge down Baitings Dam in aid of the Red Cross.
It takes place on Saturday September 24 but organisers are urging people to sign up now as places always fill up fast.
Max Newton, und-raiser for the Red Cross in Yorkshire, said: “This is a massive abseil down a marvellous structure in a wonderful setting for a brilliant cause.
“Each and every person will have an exhilarating experience and raise money for the life-saving work of the Red Cross in Halifax, as well as overseas.
“Last year we raised over £13,000 – including £4,000 from Halifax-based abseilers – and are hoping for more in 2011.”
All participants are expected to raise at least £100 and there is a £10 registration fee.
Instruction will be given by professional abseilers. Contact Maxon 0114 242 7379 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
