Wet and windy weather is expected today and into the start of the working week.

The forecast is rain, heavy at times and will spread to all parts by mid morning, accompanied by a very strong and gusty wind for the Yorkshire and Humber region. Later this afternoon the rain will clear but it will remain very windy. Feeling cold in the wind and rain with a maximum temperature 15 °C.

The strong winds will continue overnight with a few showers, mainly in the west, and becoming heavier later in the night.

The Met office has said it will remain very windy through Monday with plenty of heavy, blustery and possibly thundery showers. Some brighter spells are likely in between the showers but it will feel cold.

The outlook for Tuesday to Thursday will still be windy on Tuesday with showers, some heavy, and becoming drier with sunny spells on Wednesday and winds slowly easing later. Further rain is expected for a time on Thursday and will feel cool throughout.
