Yarn bombs away, all for Age UK!

TO mark the second Age UK Bobble Day, Halifax town centre got a new look.

Volunteers knitted while they nattered to create a series of yarn bombed goods.

Everything from bollards, signposts to wheelchairs were transformed and covered with knitting.

The day is to raise awareness and funds to prevent raised helps prevent needless suffering in winter.

Judith Churley, from the charity, said: “Three older people in Calderdale and Kirklees due a preventable death during the cold winter, and we need to make people aware of this.

“We just brought a bit of colour to the town centre.”

Knitted bobbles are on sale for a donation of £1, with all proceeds towards the campaign, from the Age UK Choices Centre at 4 to 6 The Square, Woolshops. They will be on sale until the end of February.
