GENEROUS pupils have raised £656 towards an appeal towards a lasting memorial for tragic teen Lisa Saville.

Lisa’s twin sisters Chloe and Sophie both attend the school and have been hard at work to raise money.

Lisa, 19, died in a tragic accident in March, near her home in Wheatley.

Her family want to raise £6,000 to buy her headstone, and after the outpouring of support and grief after she died, mum Debbie started fund-raising, so all those affected could help towards her final resting place.

Headteacher Roy Hepplestone, said: “We felt we would like to support Mrs Saville and her family so in order to do this we organised a non-uniform day and bun sale in school.

“The children gave a small donation to take part in this. Staff and children made buns which were sold in school and we were overwhelmed with the response we had.

“We have some extremely supportive parents especially when it comes to fund raising events in school and they never cease to amaze us with their generosity.”

Debbie said: “Children, teachers and parents raised £656.11 which is unbelievable.

“We are so touched by the kindness everyone has shown our family.”
