A big universe - or is it just that we are so small

Have your say

I’ve seen excellent pictures of the Venus transit, remembering the previous transit, I compared it unfavourably with the total eclipse of the sun.

“Just a dot moving across”.
Then I reviewed what I was seeing. Venus is a planet only slightly smaller than the Earth 26 million miles away, the Sun is a further 67 million miles on, looking gigantic even from this distance of 93 million miles! The Sun is 860 thousand miles in diameter.
Taking a deep breath, it made me realise how big this part of God’s universe is, or how small we are by comparison, depending on how we see it!
I havn’t seen this sort of comment before and thought it might amuse your readers!
