Calder High son’s success

I WAS very interested to read in Yoursay the letter from Roz Jowett writing about former pupils of Sowerby Bridge Grammar School, 1963.

It was good to learn of the success of those named.

I would like to mention Calder High School - where my son Andrew attended.

He has had a very successful career as a professional musician in the entertainment world and has visited many countries overseas. He plays keyboards.

He has worked on cruise ships and met many interesting people. Now working as band leader at a holiday village in West Sussex.

I thought you might be interested to know that his son, Christopher, who is 20 years old, is also a musician. He plays xylophone and is also a gifted pianist. He first met Sir Patrick Moore when he was nine years old through his interest in astronomy.

I enjoy Flair Band on big band nights - when they have 10 musicians.

So, thank you for all the photographs and news. Pleased to say that Andrew and Christopher still take an interest in Halifax news.
