Care redundant in Calderdale as another service goes

I was distressed to hear that after many months of negotiations the Calder Valley Club has been unable to reach agreement with Calderdale under the new contractual conditions.

The Club has been an important provider of day care in Mytholmroyd for local people and for those from further afield, for the last 30 years. It is so sad that the staff, who have given such good service to members, should have received redundancy notices.

The trustees are hoping to be able to provide a service and not close. I am sure the Club will receive a great deal of local support to help it continue its good work, particularly from local Hebden Royd and Calderdale Councillors. Hopefully, the trustees may also be able to re-open discussions with Calderdale. We do not want to lose such a valued organisation.
