Don’t cut help for disabled

Lower Bentley Royd

I have noticed over the last few weeks articles in the Courier regarding spending cuts eg, the Mayfield Trust, special needs for disabled children’s teaching at St John’s Church, Warley and Cherry Tree Day Nursery, also Calder Valley Club and I am sure many more cuts to the very people who desperately need it much more than the rest of us.

We should help the most disabled people in society, it’s our duty as a caring society.

Once we stop doing that what sort of people are we? Surely we can make cuts in other ways?

It makes me sad to see the way society accepts these cuts on the disabled yet accept that the government is to spend £5.5 million on providing prisons with an upgrade on Sky TV so they can watch Sky Sports etc, because the inmates get depressed and there are suicides. I am sure many disabled people feel depressed as well.
