SO OUR inept councillors are now considering a more simple and efficient way to reycle? (Courier 2/8/11), about time too. It’s over 30 years of shall we, can we, should we, etc, and two years since the dreaded wheelie bins came in.
I am all for recycling if it’s done right.
We have no provisions for cardboard, garden waste, certain plastics, etc.
As I said in (Your say) way back on (25/4/9) North Hykeham in Lincolnshire have the near perfect recycling programme.
Three wheelie bins: one for garden waste, peelings, food; one for bottles, cans, jars, paper, plastics, cardboard, etc.
Calderdale councillors go look at other districts’ waste programme, you’ll be surprised at what you come up with.
Then Halifax and Calderdale will not only have the best recycling record in West Yorkshire but in England.
