Peter Holmes observes (Your say, May 13) the pro-EU Lib-Dems unpopularity in the polls and their overwhelming defeat in the AV referendum.

Peter then speculates how the Lib-Dems may revive their popularity with the, I hope, tongue-in-cheek suggestion, that they campaign to join the Euro single currency.

However, Lib-Dem Bob Heys’ letter (Your say, May 14) is still arguing for AV, reminding me they could follow the precedent set by their friends in Brussels and hold further referendums until they get the ‘right’ result, then no more referendums.
