It’s becoming more like a fairground

Each time I visit Park Wood Crematorium I become more and more disheartened to see that, instead of the once tranquil and serene landscape of the grounds, the place is becoming more and more like a fairground.

I don’t envy the groundsmen who, instead of mowing beautiful undulating lawns, must now have to negotiate an obstacle course around plastic flowers, windmills, teddy bears etc.

It seems sacrilege to me to dig holes all over a pristine lawn only to fill them with unsightly objects which create an overall untidy appearance.

It seems a shame that there is so little space within the building for the leaving of plants and floral tributes, which may be part of the cause. At one time there was a marble top on which visitors could place their tributes, but unfortunately this has now disappeared.
