Just a brief response to Jackie Handley ( “Station Fine Warning” 7/7/11).
I’m not sure where this bit of grass is “at the rear of the station car park”, where parking is forbidden, but I get pretty fed-up with people who leave their cars anywhere that suits them. Places that spring to mind: convenient bits of communal grass or lawns, right on the corner by Brackenbed Fish Shop, full-square on the pavement, double-parked (taxis) in busy roads so that able bodied passengers only have a few yards to waddle etc. Anyway I’m intrigued by this bit of Northern Rail grass.
Do they allow pic-nics? I shall seek it out.
