Massive debt was a Labour legacy

Anthony Rutherford (Your say, August 6) says “The way a crisis caused by the banks has been changed into one caused by public spending has been political genius”.

No Anthony, you’ve got it the wrong way round, it should read, “The last ‘in denial’ Labour government left a massive debt and that it has been ‘political genius’ that it managed to fool some of the people that it was the banks’ fault”.

Unless Anthony thinks his own debt is the fault of his bank also.
