So a second major shopping development is threatened by the firm who have been unable to attract one single shop to Broad Street.
Apart from the cinema there are only eateries, even the Laura Mitchell Clinic is moving there to fill a gap. Gregory’s need to put the Council Offices and Library there to fill up the site and then charge us rent for the privilege.
Their record for attracting new retail to the town is non-existent so how can “the cost of renting the new library” be easily covered by savings on business rates for Northgate House and existing Library?
Surely the Council can find space in their own premises for staff should Northgate House be unsuitable? Do not use Our rates’ money to pay rent to these useless developers.
