I FEEL I must write to add my objection to other objections regarding the moving of Halifax Central Library and demolition of Northgate House.
To waste money at this time of cutbacks is scandalous.
The position of the library at the moment is easy to get to, it is a purpose-built library with a superb inbuilt safe archive.
Northgate House probably just needs a little TLC, but to knock it down and then build a new council building is madness.
The council seem hell bent on “selling off the family silver” so to speak. We certainly do not need a monster of a glass building or another supermarket to kill off more of the ‘little’ shops.
Please, please think again!
