Scrap the cycle lanes and use money to fix potholes

I am writing to you concerning the Elland bypass and the nearly £200,00 spent by this council on providing a cycle lane from Salterhebble to the Elland junction.

Last weekend’s bank holiday I saw four separate incidents of cyclists ignore completely the raised section and the other cycle lane after the railway tunnel and instead ride in the main carriage way. Clearly a total waste of public money and this reinforces the car drivers’ belief that these people are ignorant and will continue regardless. The council should now abolish any idea of further works and allow the current lanes to be returned to normal road use. This saving can then be used to repair the potholes that blight the car drivers of Calderdale.
