Re Five Kinds of Silence at Hebden Bridge Theatre 17/5/13. The director Alan Stockdill was brave to choose such a harrowing subject.

His personal portrayal of Billy carried menace throughout.
A sharp contrast to the affable chap in the bar afterwards! The three closest characters around Billy (I won’t give away the plot) were convincingly and poignantly portrayed. It was difficult to choose the best actor.
Perhaps Mr Stockdill for range of acting from childhood onwards. It must also be difficult to act and direct. My wife avidly watches Eastenders, I avoid the wall to wall misery. The highest praise I can give to Mr Stockdill is he made Eastenders look like the Magic Roundabout-a triumph.
