Ovenden Crescent, Ovenden, Halifax.
I READ your report headlined "Lofty was starving but I did nothing" (Courier, September 14).
It is time those who abuse and ill-treat our dumb friends were sent to prison for a long time. This type of thing is far too prevalent in today's society and totally unacceptable.
Fines are far too low and an utter farce. If prison sentences were imposed then maybe the message would get through that cruelty to animals will not be tolerated.
It's sickening that such awful people make so many lame excuses and get let off far too lightly.
