Fire crews from across Calderdale have spent 17 hours battling a huge fire in Halifax.

Firefighters from Halifax, Brighouse, Illingworth, Elland, Odsal and Stanningley were all called to the incident at an environmental waste plant off Swales Moor Road at 4.40pm yesterday (Thursday).

The fire, which involved 60 tons of woodchip, rubber and tyres, took around 17 hours to put out.
