HALIFAX are out of the Challenge Cup after losing 42-24 to Super League neighbours Huddersfield.
But Matt Calland's side will take tremendous confidence from a truly gutsy display that kept the 2006 finalists on their toes until the last 10 minutes.

Fax could have easily won today, scored some great tries, but where maybe let down with a couple of soft tries. That said, if the score line was reversed, the giants couldnt have complained.
Let me have replies on this statement-
the bottom few teams in super league are technically no better than Halifax, their only exploit is full time training, resulting in higher fitness levels. These lower teams in super league are usually very boring to watch, five drives and a Kick.
Pencky and Holroyd where by far the most skilfull players on the park, and could grace super-league,
we will have a top year, the best rugby played by Fax since pendleburys days . Shame the Franschise nonsense will kill the game off. Imagine taking away promotion and religation in any other sport- ie - football. it is what makes sport interesting, what a sham!!!!!!
crowds will drop at all the lower super league clubs, when they are near the bottom and have nothing to play for, and likewise for national league, when it doesnt matter if they win the league. they wont go up, whats the point, it might work in Australia, but not here. What makes Cas, Wakefield,Hudds, and the rest better than us, with our traditions.
Bring the game back to the m62 corridor, and if teams want to join, great , but on exactly the same rules and terms as everyone else.

couldnt agree more,Fax are playing some great stuff and if things had gone our way we could have won today.shame the powers that be cant see any further than Super league and start to spread the sky money around the rest of rugby league and scrap this ridiculous franchise idea,

We let in a couple of soft tries early on and they scored from a forward pass. Yes it so easily could have gone the other way and we are not amillion miles from the likes of Hudds. It,s a pity we don,t have a level playing field with regard to the daft franchise idea.Lets finish in top spot for a start and see where we end up.Well tried today FAX.

Who said Fax would dominate this season? Not me. BUT I do agree with the above comments. The RFL are in cloud cookooland sometimes. Rugby League is a Northern sport and I think it is best played in the winter months. Level playingfields please for what is the BEST team game this world has ever seen. Hard luck Halifax and a great effort.RFL will reap what they sow and at the min. It is not good for our game. Television it might be good for, but our game will suffer.

It would be nice to see a report in the courier showing a true reflection of the match. Week in and out over zealous reporting of matches which must have taken place at different location to Halifax supporters is a joke. Huddersfield were their for the beating, but once again the pride and determination do not exist. After sleeping for the first 5 minutes and waking up Halifax did play some excellent rugby. Clouded by the hapless performance of a player who didnt even deserve to pull on a Halifax shirt, the crowd played more than their part. In all fairnedd they deserve the credit for mistake after mistake they still cheered!

So which bit of the report's wrong, Faithful?

crazy. i cant understand the mentality of some of you "fan fans". i'll support anyone who pulls on that shirt, seems to me most of you look for a player each season to pick out. MG made 1 unforced error and the morons near me were calling for his head.

good performance fax, another shocker by the referoo though.

That was the unforced error i'm talking about! and so what - maybe his positioning isnt that great.

BUT, my point is, once he's out there what do you hope to achieve by getting on his back?! is it going to improve his ability? will it increase his confidence? will it spur on the team to a glorious campaign?

No, it won't.

I doubt anything i do or say will increase his ability. Those fans that do get on his case are entitled to do that. It's called passion, of course none of it is going benefit him in anyway, but how do you expect them to react? Your talking about people who have followed the club for years, and care passionately for Fax.

The short and tall of it is Miles Greenwood has been an immensely disappointing signing for Fax. Perhaps he will prove me and the other fans wrong, but somehow i just don't see it happening.
