YEAR 11 students kick-started the prom season in fine style at Brooksbank School, Elland.
A fleet of stretch limos helped bring 270 students and staff to school where a marquee had been erected in the main hall.

A prom king and queen were selected to cut a prom cake and a buffet served before the youngsters danced the night away under disco lights, dry ice and a glitter ball.

"The girls displayed a dazzling collection of dresses from fun and flirtatious puffy skirts to full-on princess ballgowns," said school marketing manager Lee Edmondson.

"The guys oozed all the cool sophistication of 007 doppelgangers in their slick dinner jackets and bow ties."

Highlights captured on film will be available for all students on a special DVD.

The Year 11 pupils leave school later this month for study leave ahead of examinations.

How is it that all the girls look like adults but the boys look like kids in suits. LOL

All very nicely turned out though.

Barney Rubble, "How is it that all the girls look like adults..."

Save it for the judge, mate...

Dunno whether i like all this 'prom' nonsense. All a bit American for my liking. Kids seem to have enjoyed themselves though.

Why shouldn't these kids dress up and enjoy themselves? Judging by the serious metal dropping these kids off, there would appear to be a few wealthy parents.
