Bradford PA v FC Halifax Town: Away win for Shaymen

Bradford PA 1 FC Halifax Town 3 Town moved further clear at the top of the table after a battling derby win that saw both sides finish with 10 men.

Town opened the scoring after two minutes when Jamie Vardy fired home from Lee Gregory's lay off.

And they doubled their advantage nine minutes before the break when a Gregory shot looped high off home keeper John Lamb and bounced into the net.

Avenue pulled one back within a couple of minutes of the re-start, Adam Savory's header crossing the line before hitting Aaron Hardy.

But Tom Baker restored the Shaymen's two goal cushion just before the hour when he fired home from the penalty spot after Vardy had been pulled back in the area.

Scott Phelan was sent off 15 minutes from the end with Avenue sub Mark Hume following him to the changing rooms five minutes later
