Jer Lane have moved quickly and replaced departing Jordan Laban with fellow batsman Wayne Cotton in their bid for a hat-trick of Foster’s Halifax League titles.

Left-handed No 3 Laban, arguably the league’s top young talent, has joined Bradford League big guns Woodlands in the last few days.

That prompted Lane to approach Thornton’s Cotton, who will be reunited with ex-Bradshaw teammates Chris Shannon, who signed earlier this winter from Booth, and Simon Collins.

Jer Lane had earlier announced changes to their bowling attack with Sam Wilson moving to Pool in the Aire/Wharfe League and Mansha Khan joining from Haworth Road Methodists.

Lane won the title by 25-point margin from Booth last summer and will start hot favourites for honours again, having picked up players from two sides who are among their main rivals for honours.
