Scott Waites has made it through to the last eight of the BDO World Championships with a remarkable comeback to beat Geert de Vos.

The 38-year-old, winner of the event in 2013, trailed the second round tie 3-0 but produced a stunning comeback to win 4-3.

De Vos won 9 of the opening 11 legs, before Waites won 12 of the remaining 13 legs to complete the turnaround.

Bradford-born Waites, a carpenter for Halifax-based Pennine Housing, will now face the number one seed Glen Durrant this afternoon in the competition at Lakeside, Frimley Green.
