Conor goes out on loan

Conor Qualter has joined Kendal Town

Conor Qualter has joined Kendal Town

Teenage defender Conor Qualter has joined Kendal Town on a on month loan.

The defender, who signed in the summer, had been limited to just two substitue appearances for the Shaymen until he started at Liversedge in the West Riding County Cup on Tuesday night - a game in which he scored.

Neil Aspin admitted after that game: “The problem with players at a club like ours with only one team is that lads like Conor don’t get a chance to play.

“That means they suffer because they can’t get match fitness and when they’re called upon it makes it very difficult for them.

“We need Conor to go out and play games which will sharpen him up and that will make him a better proposition if he is to play for us.

“I believe he can develop and become a good centre half.”
