Game off: Town's game against Guiseley has fallen victim to the weather

Town’s top of the table clash with promotion chasing neighbours Guiseley has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

A weekend of heavy rainfall across the north of England was followed up by more rain last night, leaving the Nethermoor pitch unplayable.

Following an initial inspection by the club at 11am, the referee held an official inspection at 12.30pm.

It is the second time Town’s trip to Guiseley has been postponed.

They were originally due to play the Lions on November 3, but that was postponed due to Guiseley’s progress in the FA Cup.

It’s also not the first time Town have lost a game due to a waterlogged pitch.

They twice had their home match with Vauxhall Motors postponed - eventually getting the game played at the third time of asking and winning 4-0.

Town will hope that their County Cup game against Albion Sports at the Horsfall Stadium tomorrow night can go ahead.
