Liam Hogan believes Town can cope with the added pressure of playing for a play off place.
This time of year has usually seen the Shaymen celebrating title success.
But this term it is a top five place and an extension to the campaign that they have in their sights.
“Some of the lads have been in it before,” he said.
“In the past two seasons at this time it has been comfortable because it has been wrapped up.
“I don’t feel any different. I just know there is a job to do over 90 minutes.
“As long as you and the 10 other people on the pitch stick to their jobs hopefully you come out with a positive result.”
Whatever happens between now and the end of the play offs, Hogan believes Town have had another successful campaign.
“It is positive but there are a few lads who have had success over the last two seasons and to be in the position we are in is a little bit of a disappointment.
“As far as I am concerned it is a successful season because we are in and around the play off places.
“When you get into the plays offs it is all about what happens on the day.
“Over two legs I would fancy us against some of the teams that are going to be in there.
“We can beat any team on our day.”
Next up for Town are Droylsden who visit the Shay this afternoon looking to complete a league double over Neil Aspin’s side.
And Hogan knows that he and his teammates will have to be at their best if they are to overcome a side that is free from the pressure of requiring points to either stay up or clinch promotion.
“When we played at Droylsden earlier in the season it was one of our better performances,” he said.
“We were a bit unlucky not to pick up the points.
“They will come to Halifax to play football; hopefully we can put it on in front of our own crowd.
“Home form has probably not been the strongest this year compared to last season and the season before.
“It would be nice to possibly confirm something in front of the supporters who have travelled in numbers through the back end of the season.”
