Shaymen looking to motor up the table

FC Halifax Town could move up to fourth in the Blue Square North if they win at Vauxhall Motors on Tuesday (February 26, 7.45pm kick-off).

Halifax failed to find the net for the first time in five league games in their goalless draw with Stalybridge on Saturday, but extended their unbeaten run in the Conference North to six matches.

The reverse fixture back in November saw The Shaymen run out 4-0 winners with goals from Alex Titchiner, Gareth Seddon, Jon Worthington and Alex Johnson.

A win for Vauxhall could lift them into the top ten in the table, who have won three of their last five games, including an impressive 2-0 victory of Town’s promotion rivals Guiseley.

Former Halifax striker Ashley Stott is among the ranks at Rivacre Park, and has seven goals so far this season.

Their top scorer is Tom Rutter, who signed for the Motormen in July 2012 from Knutsford FC after scoring 26 goals in 21 appearances last term and has also represented England Schoolboys.
