Town could face Chelmsford in FA Trophy

FC Halifax Town will played Chelmsford City if they beat Maidstone tomorrow

FC Halifax Town will played Chelmsford City if they beat Maidstone tomorrow

FC Halifax Town could face Chelmsford City in the last 16 of the FA Trophy - if they can overcome Maidstone United tomorrow night.

Town’s game against the Stones was the only game in the second round tie in the country to fall victim to the weather when it was postponed on Saturday.

The Shaymen will now face the Kent based side tomorrow night for a place in round three, meaning their Conference North clash at Altrincham has again been called off.

Should Town progress, the third round clash is scheduled to be played on Saturday January 12 - the day that Town are due to be at home to rock bottom Hinckley United, who last week were deducted three points for failing to play their creditors.

Chelmsford, who play in the Blue Square South, beat Hereford United 3-0 on Saturday to reach the third round.

Should Town progress, the game will be played at the Shay on Saturday 12 January.
