FC Halifax Town have released midfielder Jason Jarrett - just three days after Town suffered their heaviest defeat of the season.
Jarrett, 33, signed in the summer after an impressive trial period with the club.
He took that good form into this season and has been one of Town’s most consistent and reliable performers.
But the club confirmed early this morning that boss Neil Aspin had chosen to release Jarrett.
The former Wigan, Norwich, Bury and Queens Park Rangers star has faced a string of off field problems during his career - and earlier this season talked openly about his battle with depression.
He also missed the recent 1-0 win at Worcester due to complications with the birth of his child.
